Dear PUSD Teachers and Administrators,

PAINTS (Promote Art in the Schools, Inc.) is proud to announce our 2009-2010 grant cycle.  Funds will be granted to all the Piedmont schools for visual art projects, guest artists and teachers, stipends/supplies supporting project requests and art education experiences for educators.

The PAINTS grant program supports the belief that the arts teach a common core of knowledge that helps students appreciate and understand human history and cultures, develop higher order thinking skills, express their own creativity and develop a life-long appreciation of the arts.

All Piedmont teachers, staff, aides, specialists and administrators are encouraged to apply. We hope these grants will encourage educators to integrate art into all curriculum. 

In past years, PAINTS has funded up to $25,000 in grants, stipends and classes for teachers during the academic year. This year grants will be funded on a rolling basis with no strict deadlines.

Please note that PAINTS discourages funding for the following:

• The same project for more than 3 consecutive years
• Existing projects that have established sources of funding
• Software upgrades
• Basic art supplies (PAINTS stipends cover this type of request)
